English Walnut Coffee Table
This beautiful tabletop was made from a 70+ year old English Walnut tree in Sacramento that had to be removed because it got too big and too close to the house. The legs are made from the wood of the Quebracho tree and are mortised into the tabletop. The cross piece is made from Sapele Mahogany and is mortised into the legs, making this table extremely sturdy and stable.
The finish I used on this table - and all my other projects - is Rubio Monocoat from Northern Europe where it is used on park benches, outdoor furniture and hardwood floors. It is extremely durable and expensive but well worth it. I figure if it is good enough for a park bench in Sweden, it can certainly stand up to the rigors of an American household.
This beautiful coffee table measures 60 inches long and varies between 17 and 24 inches wide. It is 17 inches high and is very heavy.
